Joining hands to accelerate the progress of COVID-19 vaccination, on the morning of June 25 in Hanoi, CJ Group in Vietnam donated VND 6.49 billion to Vietnam’s national COVID-19 vaccine fund.

Mr. Ho Duc Phuc – Vietnam’s Minister of Finance and Mr. Chang Bok Sang - Chairman of CJ Group in Vietnam attended the donation ceremony. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ho Duc Phuc highly appreciated CJ Group in Vietnam and its subsidiaries for their active participation in social contribution activities towards the Vietnamese people. During the intensified current situation of the 4th COVID-19 wave, the support and contribution of domestic and international businesses were extremely significant to help Vietnam overcome the pandemic and effectively implement the dual goal of containing the outbreak and promoting the economic growth of the Government, he added.

Heavily impacted by the pandemic, but subsidiaries of CJ Group in Vietnam attempted to finance Vietnam’s COVID-19 vaccine fund in order to join hands with the Government and people of Vietnam to fight the pandemic. Specifically, CJ Vina Agri Company contributed VND 4 billion, CJ Cau Tre Company contributed VND 550 million, CJ CGV Vietnam Company contributed VND 500 million, CJ Logistics Company contributed VND 410 million, CJ Gemadept Company contributed VND 300 million, CJ Freshway Company contributed VND 220 million, CJ Foodville Company contributed VND 200 million, CJ Vietnam Company contributed VND 220 million, and CJ OliveNetworks Company contributed VND 100 million. In addition, another VND 410 million was also financed by others such as CJ Bio to COVID-19 prevention and control funds of local authorities in Ho Chi Minh City and Vung Tau Province.

“For more than 20 years of presence, investment, and development in Vietnam, we have always joined hands to accompany the Vietnamese Government in all social contribution activities. Many of CJ Group's subsidiaries themselves are heavily affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, CJ Group in Vietnam hopes that these small contributions, along with other businesses and millions of people across the country's, will partly reduce the burden on the state budget and support the Government to accelerate the vaccination progress to reach a large number of people, and businesses will soon return to normal activities, developing the country's economy” shared Mr. Chang Bok Sang, the representative of CJ Group in Vietnam at the ceremony.
